Research Assistant & UX Engineer

Supported interdisciplinary autism and nutrition research at the University of the Witwatersrand, from synthesising caregiver interview and survey findings into a research paper through to the development and execution of a four-week caregiver diary study. Conducted qualitative data analysis, including transcript preparation, familiarisation, inductive coding, codebook development and refinement, cross-case comparison, and thematic analysis. Supported participant recruitment, onboarding, and follow-up for the diary study, collecting longitudinal data on children’s meals, snacks, eating patterns, and food preferences to inform future digital health and nutrition interventions.

Co-founder & Product Engineer

Worked across product design and software development for Pebla, a mobile payments and rewards platform serving users in Rwanda. Designed user experiences and contributed to the implementation of core features including payments, bills, loyalty, offers, referrals and user groups, while working with technologies including Flutter, Firebase, Supabase and REST APIs. Led and single handedly redesigned and developed the Pebla version 2, covering the product experience, mobile interfaces, backend integrations and production migration.

Research Assistant & UI Designer

Contributed to interdisciplinary research at Carnegie Mellon University Africa and the University of the Witwatersrand focused on improving nutrition and feeding interventions for children with autism through digital health. Conducted systematic research, literature reviews, app content analysis, interviews, data collection and analysis, and user research with caregivers and healthcare professionals. Applied these findings to inform the UX, information architecture, data visualisation, and prototyping of a caregiver-facing nutrition application.

Product Lead & Software Engineer

Led product strategy and software engineering across Boma and PaySafe, owning product direction alongside the architecture and development of web applications. Designed and implemented React/Next.js front-end systems integrated with Django REST APIs, established reusable application components and frontend architecture, and built CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and AWS. Worked across product discovery, UX, development, testing, deployment, and iteration, collaborating with stakeholders to translate business requirements into maintainable, production-ready software.

Led product design across Yeah Innovations’ fintech portfolio, including Yeab BNPL, Boma, and Paysafe, contributing to products across payments, buy-now-pay-later, and digital financial services. Owned the design process across product discovery, UX architecture, user flows, interaction design, visual design, prototyping, and developer handoff for mobile and web experiences. Established a scalable Figma-based design system and shared design patterns to improve consistency across products, while also shaping brand identity and visual direction. Worked closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to translate requirements and user needs into production-ready digital experiences and support the implementation of designs across the product portfolio.
